Saint Luke is the writer of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. It is believed that he was born a Gentile, and his Gospel is the only one that evangelizes to the Gentiles, namely through the Good Samaritan parable. In the Acts, he accompanies Saint Paul and his ministry and documents much of his work. He stays with Paul during his imprisonment in Rome. In the Gospel of Luke, he documents six miracles and 18 parables that are not in the other gospels. Also, its only in Luke’s Gospel that we see the Mary’s Magnificat. There doesn’t seem to be consensus on Luke’s death, whether via martyrdom or not.
