Saint Mary Magdalene was alive during the ministry of Jesus and is mentioned at least a dozen times in the Gospels. She was a Jewish women living amongst the Gentiles, who had a reputation as a great sinner. In the Gospels, Jesus casts seven demons out of her and forgave her sins. It is agreed among many that Mary was following Jesus during his crucifixion. After his death, when Mary came to his tomb to anoint his body, she saw that the stone was rolled away. Christ had risen, and she was the first witness to His resurrection.
